"It is a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together..."

You could say my baking career started at the ripe old age of 2 1/2.

That was when my parents wrote down a recipe that I made up on the spot for blueberry muffins. Now, as you can imagine, a typical 2 1/2 year old does not have the worlds most thorough grasp of what it takes to bake a muffin!

Regardless, that recipe stayed in my parent's recipe box, and it's still there to this day.

Baking was always a part of my family's weekly routine, there were always fresh cookies and muffins around and every special occasion was graced with a homemade pie. Cake, on the other hand, wasn't something that we got into at that age. Sure, there was cake at our birthday parties, but it never seemed to have the same sense of importance that all of our homemade goods did.

So when I first decided to think about opening up a baking business, I envisioned a small-town bakery, specializing in pies, breads, muffins, and small pastries. Sounds great right? I had no idea at the time that I would be where I am today.

When I was attending some college classes for baking, I started to get requests from friends and family for cakes and decorated cookies. Very quickly these requests became more elaborate and challenging, but I loved every minute of applying each new technique I learned.

So I had discovered a niche. Something I could do that people were happy to receive on their special occasions.

Of course nothing about where we are today would be possible without my partner-in-crime. When I decided that this was where I wanted to focus my attention for the business, Randal jumped headfirst into learning how to bake right alongside me. This was a man who, when I met him, proudly proclaimed that he had been known to burn a salad. Nowadays you can often find him covered in icing sugar or flour (see page image), or delivering delicious baked goods and procuring the finest ingredients to bake them. And lets be honest, somebody has to make sure that this crazy businesslady eats a full meal at least once a day! Randal took to cooking better than anyone I've known (in addition to the baking), and has made me and both our families some of the most delicious dishes I've ever had.

We look forward to meeting you and hope that we can be a part of any special occasion you can think of!
